Clevedon Town Council Responds to Concerns About Christmas Lights

Clevedon Town Council acknowledges the feedback from businesses and residents regarding the Christmas lights display in the town centre. While we share the disappointment over the current situation, we want to provide clarity and context about the challenges we have faced this year.

The Christmas lights we currently have are old and have struggled to withstand the severe weather conditions we’ve experienced recently. Due to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, we had hoped that the lights would last another year, but unfortunately this approach has proven unsustainable.

Looking ahead, Clevedon Town Council is committed to improving the festive experience for everyone in our town. In 2025, we look forward to better communication and collaboration with all stakeholders to ensure a cohesive and inclusive approach to Christmas lighting and events. To support these efforts, we have recently welcomed a Communications Manager to our team, who will work closely with our officers and the community to streamline these processes.

We want to express our gratitude to local businesses, residents, and visitors for their understanding.

In the meantime, we wish everyone in Clevedon a wonderful and joyful Christmas season.
