Sustainable Clevedon – Events
The events below are from Sustainable Clevedon
Wassailing – this Saturday, 11th January 2.30 till 4pm in the Community Orchard next to Baytree School in Brookside Walk. Just follow the path to the right of the school. This is always great fun and is a centuries-old custom of celebrating the previous harvest and warding off bad spirits in orchards and fruit trees. Please bring a pan and something to bang it with as we process around the trees to wake them up. Wellies are always a good idea! There will be cider, mulled cider and apple cake.
Energy Stall – Thursdays 16th and 23rd January between 9.30 and 12.30 at the market in Queen’s Square. This is a continuation of our energy project which started with the Green Open Homes and is funded by the Centre for Sustainable Energy.. At the stall we will have information about ways to insulate and draft proof homes. There will be draft proofing products to give away and information leaflets available. We need volunteers to help us on the stall, please let us know if you could be available.
Green Drinks – on Tuesday 21st January at 7.30 at the Old Inn, Walton Road. There won’t be a speaker but it’ll be an opportunity to discuss our plans for the coming year including the festival in March.
