Important Notice for Clevedon Residents and Road Users:
North Somerset Council is implementing a temporary prohibition of use by vehicles on several roads in Clevedon to facilitate essential highway works. This closure is necessary to improve pedestrian access, realign junctions, and resurface roads, all in the interest of public safety.
Closure Details: The following roads will be affected as part of the works:
- Elton Road (24th–28th February) – Installation of a dropped kerb crossing point.
- The Beach (south end) (24th–25th February & 13th–14th March) – Realignment of junction and pedestrian crossing points.
- The Beach (north end) (17th–18th March & 24th–25th April) – Junction realignment and installation of an island for cyclist safety.
- The Beach (entire length) (28th April–9th May) – Resurfacing and road markings.
- Alexandra Road (west end) (5th–9th May) – Road markings.
- Seavale Road (west end) (5th–9th May) – Road markings.
Access Arrangements:
- During the works, the one-way traffic order on The Beach will be temporarily revoked to allow two-way traffic. Access points will change as required, and signage will be in place to guide road users.
- Parking will be suspended along The Beach during the works.
- The one-way traffic order on Seavale will also be temporarily revoked when its junction with The Beach is closed.
Alternative Routes:
- Elton Road: Use Victoria Road – Albert Road and vice versa.
- The Beach (Northbound): Elton Road – Alexandra Road – Copse Road – Marine Hill – Marine Parade
- The Beach (Southbound): Marine Parade – Marine Hill – Hill Road – Bellvue Road – Elton Road
- Alexandra Road: Copse Road – Marine Hill – Marine Parade and vice versa.
- Seavale Road (Northbound): Elton Road – Seavale Road
- Seavale Road (Southbound): Marine Parade – Marine Hill – Copse Road – Seavale Road
