The remodelling of Clevedon Seafront will begin on Monday 17 February

From North Somerset Council –

The remodelling of Clevedon Seafront will begin on Monday 17 February, with an expected completion time of 13 weeks.

Phase 1 will start at the Elton Road end, requiring the closure of The Beach from that end for approximately four weeks. During this period, vehicular access will be via Alexandra Road, and the one-way system will be temporarily suspended.

Once Phase 1 is complete, Phase 2 will shift the closure to the Alexandra Road end, lasting around seven weeks. Vehicular access will then be from the Elton Road end.

Phase 3 will involve resurfacing the carriageway, addressing areas where the surface has failed, and completing road markings and signage. This final phase is expected to take up to two weeks.

We are working closely with the bus company to minimise disruption; however, the bus services will terminate at Sixways (Albert Road) until further notice, meaning ‘upper Clevedon’ will not be served. The reason for this is that overhanging trees have been identified on Alexander Road meaning that the diversion route is currently unsuitable for double decker buses.

We are working towards having the trees trimmed back to enable the bus service to resume serving the whole route as soon as is practical.
