Technical information about this website’s accessibility

Clevedon Town Council is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the issues listed below.

  • Older PDFs and Word documents (especially those published before 23 September 2018)
  • Scanned documents such as signed audit papers
  • Videos may not have captions or transcripts
  • Content produced by third parties or delivered using third-party software
  • Small number of form label issues within the Calendarista booking plugin (WCAG 1.3.1 / 2.4.6)

Third-party services

  • Google Maps: Embedded maps are not fully accessible to screen readers (WCAG 1.1.1). We provide a written address alongside each map.
  • Calendarista booking plugin: Some form inputs have empty or multiple labels (WCAG 1.3.1 and 2.4.6). We are working with the plugin provider to resolve this.

Disproportionate burden

We are not currently claiming disproportionate burden for any content.

Content not within scope of the regulations

  • PDFs and documents published before 23 September 2018 that are not essential to providing our services
  • Scanned documents that must legally be signed and published as-is

Any new PDFs or documents we publish will meet accessibility standards wherever possible.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We carry out regular accessibility checks and ensure that new content meets WCAG 2.2 AA where reasonably possible.
We are reviewing the Calendarista plugin issues and exploring alternative solutions if the supplier does not resolve them.
